a movie report of the pay it forward.

PAY IT FORWARD

1. What is the film about?

The film is all about a boy who was challenged by their SST teacher to think of an idea that can change the world and put it into action. The boy, Trevor is a clever and helpful boy. He always gives chance to others who were mostly rejected by us, likewise what he did to Jerry who was a drug addict. He gave Jerry second chance to prove himself.

His idea, the pay it forward shows what kind of mind he has. For him pay it forward means helping others without waiting for anything to be return instead the person that was helped must also help others. In that way the action will be put on and will be around the world.

Trevor work hard to achieve his goal even in his simplest ways, he tried to stop the misconception of the people in the community with regards to those who are rejected to us. He even let a drug addict enter their house.

His SST teacher, Mr. Simonet was a sad person he never been in loved from his childhood. Trevor helped Mr. Simonet for the sake of his mother for he firmly believes that his teacher could help his alcoholic mother, who was madly in love with his father.

In the school, his friend was in trouble so he tried to help him that cause his death. In the end the people realized what he has done for the people. After his death his idea was continued and became global.

2. Identify the setting. Describe it.

The movie happened at California. California was a place that was surrounded by people who judge others in and out. The movie shows the kind of world my generation experienced.

3. Who are the characters? Characterize them.

♥ Trevor McKinney

He is a boy who was assigned to think of an idea to change the world and put it into action. He is a very responsible, generous, serious helpful and a very positive boy. He is much different from any other children. Unlike him, many of us judge a person with their physical quantities. Oftentimes we tend to judge many people without knowing their capabilities. Trevor is a kind of boy who has a positive outlook towards other, for him everyone have a chance to be change. At the end his idea of pay it forward became global and has helped in renewing the world.

♥ Arlene McKinney

She is the mother of Trevor, she is very responsible mother. She is a single mother who is willing to do anything for her son. She works day and night. Although she is alcoholic, she made it for sure that Trevor is always in the good condition.

♥ Mr. Eugene Simonet

He is the SST teacher. He is a very good teacher. He is very loving also. When it comes to his profession as a teacher he always allow the good in his students to surface.

4. Who among the character did you like best? Least? Why?

*Character I like best*

Trevor, because he is just a 12 years old boy but he has a mind even a 20 years old can’t have. He is such a very clever and wise young man. He had set as an example for the people, that every time we do good thing unto others we should not expect them to pay back the goodness we have offer them. He is inspiration for our present generations though we are young we can do something to change the work.

*Character I hated most*

Arlene, because she is an alcoholic mother. Although she is responsible, she sets as a bad example to his son. I don’t like her especially when he tried to find alcohol even though Trevor had disposed the alcohol already.

5. Which part of the movie did you like best? Least? Why?

*My favorite part*

When the people recognizes how good Trevor is. I like it because from the beginning Trevor sees himself as a worthless person. Though Trevor was already dead people had treasure the good things he have contributed for the betterment of the community.

*Part I hated most*

When the mother of Trevor try to look for alcohol after she scolded her son. She even looks for alcohol in the chandelier. She always drank, that she almost forgets her son.

6. How did the story end? Did you like the ending? Why or why not?

The story end when Trevor died and the people recognize and learned how to treasure the good things he has done. They also continue the idea of Trevor, the pay it forward.

I like how the story ended because though Trevor died people remembered him as a young good boy.

7. How would you like to end the movie?

I would like it better if Trevor doesn’t die but still the people treasure and give him importance. That his idea will really work all over the world. Many people will do good to others without waiting for anything in return. And peacefulness allover the world will reign.

8. What is your impression of the movie?

My impression toward the movie is very confusing at first, but as the movie goes on I slowly learned how to understand it message. I think it is a movie fit on our generation. The movie gives an idea for us to know that despite of many problems we face there are still chances to renew the world.

9. Rate the movie using the scale of 1-10. Explain your rating.

8, the movie has a good message but at first it is so hard to be understood. The movie gives inspiration; especially in our times that global crisis was a problem in the whole world, that even the economic leaders of the world experience it. The movie gives us a clear interpretation of how to solve these problems. People of our generation don’t even think of the idea Trevor has propose. These simple ideas that can help a lot in changing the world and put it into action.

“When you do good things to others don’t ask them to pay it back to you instead ask them to pay it forward”.
